As a stay-at-home mom and wife, I usually find it hard to be motivated for the day. Since I don’t ‘work’, being at home sometimes gets boring and depressing. Everyday my life seems like it’s on repeat.
But I do ‘work’. I am a mom and a wife. I manage my home. I make sure my home is well-kept; I make sure the people within it are groomed, full and happy. Isn’t that a job?
I always try to keep myself busy; I find that this keeps me away from being in a state of depression, loneliness and laziness.
Here are some very helpful tips that really give you a boost of positivity in your everyday life.
Have a morning routine
Wake up early. Take the time to shower. Don’t be in a hurry, you’ll only feel anxious and stressed. ‘Beat’ yourself with makeup. It’ll help lift your mood; natural makeup does the job. When you feel clean and look good, you feel confident and optimistic for the day. DO NOT be in your pajamas. I must admit, I used to be careless and be in my pjs throughout the day till I slept. I found that this made me lazy and unmotivated. Wear a cute outfit that makes you feel pretty in and out. This will also make you feel really good. Plus, you’d get a compliment from your hubby/partner.(another mood booster!)
Make your bed
Sounds easy? But many people don’t do this. They say to themselves why should I make my bed when I’m going to sleep, in a few hours? Flush those negative thoughts out. Make it a habit to always make your bed. Making your bed makes you feel less stressful and cluttered. It also makes you feel a whole lot of positivity. You’ll feel like you have accomplished something! For sure, when I make my bed I feel put together
Keep your house clean and organized. A messy house can make you feel stressed and unaccomplished. You are better focused on your daily tasks, instead of being distracted by the hefty mess. In the end of the day, you will feel accomplished.
Even if it’s for 10 minutes, do some cardio or dancing! Exercising gives you energy and helps boost your mood for the day. It also helps relieve stress and intense muscles. I love exercising after an hour of eating breakfast. I see a difference in my activity levels. I can clean my house and cook without feeling forced.
After completing a task/goal, whether it was cleaning, exercising, doing laundry or finishing a book, reward yourself with a treat you’d love. After a long day, I love to reward myself with a cup of coffee and a dessert treat while I watch a movie under my cozy blanket.
These are some of my everyday tasks I love to do to keep myself positive and looking forward for the day!
Remember to do what you love to stay happy and energized throughout the day.
