I loved writing this blog post because I love my morning routine. I enjoy waking up everyday doing what I like to do. Before I had my son, I would wake up whenever I wanted to. I would sleep late and wake up late. But doing this left most of my days unproductive. I was carefree and didn’t have to worry about getting things done on time.
Since my son was born, I got myself together and made a routine I would follow everyday. It took some time until I adjusted to it but it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel more motivated for the day and I get many things done.
In my opinion, having a morning routine helps with productivity and success. Starting out early and fresh, gives you momentum and energy. It makes you feel like you can achieve anything.
As I am writing this, it is morning here so I thought why not share my morning routine with you.
At first I needed an alarm in order to wake up at 7 am, but now I am able to wake up on my own. Even if I want to go back to bed, I quickly get up, without looking at my phone. Going through your phone after waking up makes you stay in bed longer. You become lazy and might even end up going back to sleep.
I stretch a little, then make my bed. It’s such a great feeling when one does his/her bed. You feel accomplished and ready to take on the day. This also helps wake me up.
At this time, my son’s still asleep and I let him sleep until he wakes up on his own.
After doing my bed, I wash my face to fully wake myself up. I use the Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub face wash and moisturize with the Mario Badescu A.H.A & Ceramide Moisturizer. Washing my face in the morning makes my skin look brighter and radiant.
While my son is still asleep, I’d make myself a cup of tea (coffee gives me bad heartburns in the morning) and eat about 3 dates. I love eating dates in the morning with my cup of tea. Dates are really good for your health. They are sweet and tasty. And also a natural energy booster!
At the same time, I would watch the news, check my phone for any messages/calls, or read/write.
I would usually do a 30 minute workout. I used to hate exercising in the morning. Thinking about it used to make me feel restless; but in fact exercising in the morning has so much benefits to your health. One benefit of exercising is that it gives you energy. It also helps pump up your metabolism (keeps it burning calories throughout the day!)
Around 9 am, my son would wake up. I would change him and then make breakfast for him and I. (My husband goes to work at 6 am.)
I always make myself a smoothie ( very rejuvenating after exercising).
After breakfast, I would do some cleaning while my son plays.
Towards the end of my moring routine, I always do my makeup even if it is a little. Doing my makeup makes me feel good and optimistic for the day. Of course, I change from my pajamas. I find that if I am in my pjs, I get nothing done. Even if I’m staying home I make sure to get dress and do my makeup. This completely changes my mood.
And that’s my morning routine! This routine helps me to start off the day with good energy and good vibes. I hope this helped you and motivated you for your mornings!
